WWE RAW RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR APRIL 15

As life hangs beside me, I gather all that I can. You were never one for confrontation, but now it lies all in your hands, and I’ve got to liveblog this pro wrestling show for you, folks.

The show opens with the now-familiar montage of people arriving at the arena.

Rhea Ripley comes to the ring with her arm in a sling and Adam Pearce in the corner behind her.

She says obviously we know what’s going on, and after Liv Morgan attacked her last week she’s being told she’s stuck on teh bench for quite a few months. She’s also been told she needs to vacate the one thing that means the most to her, her WWE Women’s World Championship, and that pisses her off.

“Bullsh*t!” chants rain down and she agrees, and she lays the title down talking about how much it hurts to do so. She calls Liv Morgan a coward for blindsiding her and says she’d have dropped her where she stood, but this is a warning to whoever wins her title— when she comes back, she’s coming back for blood.

Enter Liv Morgan, held back by security as she walks down the ramp. Security comes to meet Rhea at ringside and she drops one of them with a remarkably civil headbutt.

We get some hype for the return of Sheamus and we go to break.

Back from commercial, we get a recap of what we just saw, because Raw is three hours long. (Three hours long.)

Rhea Ripley is walking backstage when she runs into the rest of Judgment Day, who bring her in for a group hug.

Damian Priest says he knows when she comes back she’s going to make Liv regret it and she’ll be more badass than ever and they love her. Ripley tells them to keep Judgment Day on top, Dominik Mysterio tells her he loves her and she returns it.

Ivar vs. Sheamus

Shoulder blocks early, people in the crowd happy to see Sheamus, trading hard elbows, whip reversed, fighting up into the turnbuckles, jockeying for position... AVALANCHE WHITE NOISE CONNECTS! And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, Sheamus catches Warbeard with a powerslam, into the ropes for the Beats of the Bodhran! Ivar lands the reverse roundhouse, goes up top, 747 Splash... NOPE! Sheamus works him over, kneepad down, big rising knee sets him up...

Sheamus wins by pinfall with the Brogue Kick.

We get a video package for Sami Zayn winning the Intercontinental Championship and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Triple H makes his entrance, with Adam Pearce already in the ring and a podium with something covered on top of it.

Hunter gets on the mic and talks up WrestleMania XL and the beginning of his new era. Adam Pearce says Raw and SmackDown deserve new titles worthy of that new era, and they introduce Awesome Truth to come down and claim their new title belts. HHH congratulates them and shakes their hands and says if they’re going to represent this brand they need to do it in a way that represents the new era.

So going forward, they’re holding the WWE World Tag Team Champions, and Triple H unveils the new belts— still round plates, but gold on black leather. Truth gets excited about HHH’s little magic trick and then they do a little back and forth where Ron thinks he’s actually Tommaso Ciampa for some reason.

Miz tries to explain in French and somehow R-Truth understands it now. Hunter asks if he can leave and presents them with the new belts. Pearce asks why they made the boss leave the ring, Truth does not comprehend this, and Adam says the only thing left is to determine a new #1 contender for their titles... right now!

#DIY make their entrance and we go to break.

#DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa) vs. Creed Brothers (Brutus & Julius Creed) vs. New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) (WWE World Tag Team Championship #1 Contender’s Match)

Woods and Brutus and Gargano to start, trading nearfalls with abandon, New Day wipe ‘em out on the floor and we go to break!

Back from commercial, Trouble in Paradise countered into an ankle lock, into “everybody do something cool” territory, Kofi gets the knees up on a moonsault! Buzzsaw roundhouse from Gargano, DIY trap Kofi in the corner, Project Ciampa... NOPE! Crotch chop, underhooks, Kingston slips out, tag to Woods!

Tornado DDT, John throws Xavier into the corner and eats an Honor Roll! Brutus in, suplex blocked, Woods slides under, rolling elbow! Kingston tags back in, enzuigiri on Tom, he gets posted, wheelbarrow / Fameasser combination but Julius breaks it up with a belly-to-belly suplex! One for Woods a swell! And Gargano! And Ciampa gets a German suplex!

Creeds manage a wacky quadruple pin on everybody but it’s only a nearfall and a nearfall and a nearfall and a nearfall! Brutus Bomb denied, Creed pops up top, superplex connects but Woods hits a diving elbow... MEET IN THE MIDDLE BLASTS HIM MID-PIN IT IS OVER!

#DIY win by pinfall with Meet in the Middle on Xavier Woods, becoming #1 contenders to the WWE World Tag Team Championship.

Drew McIntyre is interviewed backstage, chuckling.

He gets mad and kicks the monitor without saying a word, sending us to break.

Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell vs. Ivy Nile & Maxxine Dupri

Nile and Hartwell to start, side headlock, shot off, sunset flip, only two! Dropkick from Ivy, front kick, falling enzuigiri, tag to Dupri! Crossbody off the top, bridging fisherman suplex, Maxxine distracted and Indi tags Candice in! LeRae beating the hell out of her while Pat McAfee yells about hot dogs!

Choking her in the corner, hammering punches, tag to Indi. A little bit of chaos, Indi decides to cheat this time...

Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell win by pinfall, LeRae pinning Dupri.

We get a hype reel for Damian Priest, highlighting that he’s the first Puerto Rican world champion in WWE since Pedro Morales.

In the clubhouse, he hypes Dominik Mysterio up to take care of Andrade el Idolo. Finn Balor wants to focus on the tag titles, but Damian tells him he needs him to focus on teaching Jey Uso the meaning of loss. Balor’s on board and they fist bump about it.

Andrade el Idolo makes his entrance and we go to break.

Back from commercial, we get footage of Chad Gable being interviewed during a training session before the show.

He says winning the title would mean a lot.

Andrade el Idolo vs. “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio

Feeling out, Andrade with the Three Amigos, Dominik turns it around and we go to break.

Back from commercial, back and forth, chop on the apron, Mysterio with a flip piledriver on the apron and el Idolo seems out cold! Back inside, cover for two... NOPE! Dropkick puts Andrade on the second rope, he pops up, back elbow, take JD McDonagh out...

Andrade el Idolo wins by pinfall with The Message.

Post-match, JD attacks Andrade from behind and puts boots to him! Ricochet makes the save!

A recap of the All-New, All-Different Bloodline forming on SmackDown with Tama Tonga drumming Jim Uso out of the group follows.

Jey Uso is interviewed and he talks about how dangerous the Bloodline still is and that he told Jimmy to come with him, but for right now he’s gotta stay focused on his match.

And so we go to break.

Chelsea Green & Piper Niven vs. Katana Chance & Kayden Carter

Niven and Chance to start, Piper shoulder blocks her, Cobra Clutch applied, tag to Green, elbow sets up a lariat, only two! Carter in, she hits a Sister Abigal of all things, Katana dives, Piper catches her and throws her to the floor, breaks up the nearfall...

Chelsea Green & Piper Niven win by pinfall with a folding press from Green on Kayden Carter.

Cody Rhodes is seen walking backstage to send us to break.

Back from commercial we get another recap of our opening segment.

Liv Morgan is interviewed backstage, very pleased with herself.

She’s confused as to why everyone is mad at her and asks where the sympathy for her was when Rhea put her on the shelf. Eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth, shoulder for a shoulder, Rhea got what she deserved.

“American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes makes his entrance and asks the crowd what they want to talk about in French.

He talks about how the Rock seems to actually have a lot more than one match left in him and maybe he will bleed again, but no amount of preparation or training can change the fact that if Cody’s gonna bleed, Rock’ll bleed with him. But he’s a little confused about the addition of Tama Tonga by order of the Tribal Chief, when there was no Tribal Chief to be found.

But he wants to bring somebody who knows a lot about the Bloodline out, and he introduces “Main Event” Jey Uso.

Uso talks a big game dropping a lot of nicknames and says he’s gonna win the title and he doesn’t need Cody in his corner. Cody accepts this and hugs him and cedes the floor before remembering he had one other thing... and tells him “until we yeet again.”

Sigh.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, Nia Jax is interviewed backstage and says she doesn’t give a damn about Rhea Ripley and nobody will stop her from taking the title.

Finn Balor vs. “Main Event” Jey Uso

Balor in control early, choking Uso in the ropes, Jey starts throwing right hands, whip across, roll-through, dropkick from Finn, cover for two! Back body drop puts Uso on the apron, he climbs up top, Balor grabs his foot and trips him to the mat! Kicking Jey out of the ring, Finn stands tall and we go to break!

Back from commercial, off the ropes, Balor catches a kick but eats a leg-feed enzuigiri! We see Damian Priest watching backstage as he resolves to go say hello. Ode to Rikishi sidestepped, float out of the Samoan drop, cover for two! Sling Blade connects, lining him up, Uso catches him with a superkick!

Up top, nobody home on the splash, shotgun dropkick, Balor up top, nobody home on the Coup de Grace! Spear connects, Jey back up top...

Jey Uso wins by pinfall with the diving splash.

Postmatch, the camera follows Uso as he exits through the crowd and up into the concourse and out of the building, where Sami Zayn is waiting, looking up with rapt attention. Jey asks what he’s looking at and Zayn says 25 years ago the first show he ever saw was in this building, and now he’s hear as a champion, and he wants to walk in the same way he did all those years ago.

The camera follows Sami as he does so, fired up as he wades through the screaming Montreal faithful, the conquering hometown hero that he is, and we go to break.

Back from commercial, commentary hypes up next week’s show.

Chad Gable is in Gorilla when “Big” Bronson Reed rolls up to say whoever wins, he’s got next and he’s going to challenge the winner.

Chad Gable vs. Sami Zayn (c) (WWE Intercontinental Championship)

Mat grappling early, drop toehold from Gable, side headlock, shot off, drop down, leapfrog, trading arm drags! Forehead to forehead and we go to break!

Back from commercial, whip across, Gable takes him off his feet for two, off the top with a diving headbutt, another two count! Pick the leg, dragon screw, stepover toehold kneebreakers, just plain working a stepover toehold, overhead elbow, exploder in the corner, Chad rolls through into a victory roll pin for two!

Ankle lock applied, Sami rolls him through and sends him crashing to the floor! Gable with an ankle lock on the apron, Zayn kicks him away, Arabian press Asai moonsault wipes Chad out and we go to break!

Back from commercial, avalanche Olympic Slam from Chad Gable! Trading German suplexes with abandon, Ankle Lock in the middle of the ring, Sami counters, Chad up top, missile dropkick countered into a powerbomb! Zayn looking for a Sharpshooter but his leg goes out from under him!

Suplexes into the turnbuckles, back to the ankle lock, keeping Sami grounded, he’s reaching, crawling, flagging but not failing... CHAD PULLS HIM BACK INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE RING BUT SAMI REVERSES TO A VICTORY ROLL FOR TWO! Charging in, exploder in the corner, hobbling to the corner, the adrenaline flowing...

Sami Zayn wins by pinfall with the Helluva Kick, retaining the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

Post-match, Sami crawls over to a despondent Gable and helps him up, raising his hand.

Sami goes to the floor to gladhand his friends and family and Chad has had enough, German suplex on the floor, putting him into the post, over the announce desk! Ankle lock in the turnbuckles! Referees swarm!

That’s the show, folks!
